The Mindful “Lock-In” Night Market is an exclusive evening event designed to bring together local small businesses at Leeds Corn Exchange and create a unique shopping experience focused on mindful consumerism. The event aims to encourage shoppers to shop more sustainably, inclusively, and for their wellbeing, while also promoting the diverse range of independent shops within the Corn Exchange. This “lock-in” style market will take place after hours, with a fun and engaging atmosphere that promotes shopping in a slower, more thoughtful way.
Event Date & Time:Friday 13th June
Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (tentative) with 5:00 PM - 6 PM exclusive shopping hour for PR and VIP Guests
Hopefully to be carried out seasonally, with a big push for a Christmas one.
Location: Leeds Corn Exchange, Bottom Floor & All Participating Tenants

Promote Mindful Shopping: Encourage shoppers to make more conscious decisions regarding their purchases, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and wellbeing.
Support Independent Businesses: Highlight small businesses at Leeds Corn Exchange and allow them to showcase their unique offerings in a collaborative, community-focused event.
Increase Foot Traffic to the Corn Exchange: Attract new customers to the Corn Exchange and encourage repeat visits, benefiting all participating tenants. AIM: To sell 500 tickets minimum
Create a Memorable Shopping Experience: Offer customers a relaxed, engaging shopping atmosphere where they can take their time, learn more about the businesses, and make more informed, mindful purchases.
Gamified: To further achieve the above, customers will all be given a map of the Corn Exchange showcasing all participating retailers with the aim that customers are to collect stickers with each purchase, unlocking prizes along the way!

Mindful Marketplace:
The event will feature a marketplace on the bottom floor of the Corn Exchange, with each participating trader showcasing their products that will be specially curated to have limited infringement on what is already on offer in the Corn Exchange. Traders will have the opportunity to display their unique values and highlight their commitment to sustainability and conscious consumerism.Personalised Marketing for Traders & Tenants:
Each participating trader and tenant will receive personalised marketing that explains their commitment to mindful business practices, including sustainable sourcing, ethical manufacturing, and charitable initiatives. This will encourage conversations and provide customers with insights into the values behind each business.Goody Bags:
All event attendees will receive a goody bag containing samples, vouchers, or information about the businesses involved.Sticker System & Incentives:
To encourage customers to explore the entire Corn Exchange, a map will also be provided to guide shoppers to each participating shop and inform them about the businesses' mindful practices, gamifying the shopping experience the map will incentive customers to visit each participating retailer to collect stickers and unlock possible prizes with each purchase!Ticketed Entry:
To create an exclusive atmosphere and help cover the costs of hosting the event, the Mindful Night “Lock-In” Market will be a ticketed event. Tickets will be sold at £3 per person. This fee will help offset the cost of renting the Corn Exchange and marketing the event, ensuring it is a successful and sustainable initiative.In-store Incentives for Customers:
Participating tenants will be asked to offer an in-store incentive, such as a discount, special offer, or unique product, for customers attending the event. This gives shoppers an additional reason to visit each store and enhances the value of the event ticket.Marketing & Promotion:
Extensive marketing will be carried out through an established PR list, social media channels, and the Mindful Market community. All participating tenants will be encouraged to share event promotions on their own platforms to maximise visibility. Additionally, event-specific materials (posters, flyers, social media content) will be shared for everyone to use.
Apart from opening for the evening, participating in sharing the event and having exclusive offers on the evening, there is no charge to participating tenants, however, there will be a “pay as you feel” offer to those who wish to contribute towards marketing the event.

We are open to collaboration with local businesses, organisations, or influencers who share a commitment to sustainability, ethical consumerism, and supporting small businesses. Sponsorship opportunities include co-branding, providing giveaways, or offering additional incentives for attendees.
